Christmas in a Leper Colony

Christmas in a Leper Colony in India

On Christmas, Pastor Raja in Hyderabad used gifts received through Global Hope India to bless an entire community of lepers living in a leper colony in India.

Leprosy, a curable disease, remains a harsh reality in India due to substandard sanitary conditions. Over 1,000 leper colonies persist in the country. People with leprosy are among the lowest untouchables in India, marginalized and forced to live outside the regular community.

Pastor Raja has been supporting this leper colony for over 25 years with the assistance of Global Hope India. In 2007, we planted a church there and supported a pastor who lived among them. We’ve witnessed the goodness of God completely transform this community. They have transitioned from being among the poorest in India to among the richest, all because of the love and grace of God.

This Christmas, Pastor Raja spent time delivering gifts and support. He shared God’s Word and prayed with them, expressing gratitude to everyone who makes this possible!
