In 2021, Pastor Canary received God’s call to share the Gospel amid emerging civil conflicts between two communities in their area. In pursuit of this call, Pastor Canary was led to Barbara Hemphill, a best-selling author and business owner from the US who founded the Shepherd’s House Ministry.
Pastor Canary, married and with 4 children, currently serves as the Pastor, Evangelist and Director of the Shepherd’s House Ministry in North East India. The ministry’s missionary work includes distributing the Bible, planting churches, evangelizing and providing food and clothing. Additionally, during Christmas and New Year, the ministry holds an annual gift-giving event to uplift the spirits of the community and remind them of God’s presence, even in war-stricken places.
Experiencing poverty and war firsthand led Pastor Canary to seek refuge from God. Learning that God is a God of justice and mercy, he began advocating social justice. By sharing the Scriptures, conversions happen one life at a time. A former prisoner now gives testimony to the goodness of God after being freed. A boy who experienced nothing but poverty in his young life now dreams of earning a college degree and becoming a Pastor. The conversion and transformation happened by the grace of God through Pastor Canary.
With the help of Global Hope India, drilling of the well and construction of the mission house has started. The Shepherd’s House will be the home and refuge of many especially in times of chaos, despair, and nothingness. Here they will experience God through His words and works by Pastor Canary.
Unfortunately, due to ethnic war, there have been construction delays, and the threat of loss and damage to construction supplies adds up. During this time, Pastor Canary could only utter, “I entrusted the unfinished building and the remaining materials to the Almighty God”.
Aside from the construction of the Shepherd’s House, Pastor Canary is also asking for support on their mission needs such as food, blankets, travel expenses and other necessities.
